Three alleged hitmen linked to Empangeni mall robbery
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
It's emerged that three of the six alleged hitmen, who were arrested near Richards Bay last week, have been linked to a robbery at an Empangeni shopping complex in which six people died.

The police's Thulani Zwane says a total of five people are now in custody in connection with the robbery at the Vulindlela shopping complex two weeks ago.
"These five suspects are due to reappear again on December 7 for further investigation as well as for a bail application. This case is still under investigation and if there's information that there's more to be arrested then we will arrest them," he says.
Last week, members of a provincial task team stationed in northern KZN arrested the group of alleged hitmen who have been linked to the taxi industry.
Police also say the men have been linked to armed robberies, ATM bombings and cash-in-transit heists and police killings as well as operated between KZN and Gauteng.
