Thousands to attend Africa Travel Indaba in Durban
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Tourism KZN says over 6 000 delegates will descend on Durban for the Africa Travel Indaba.
The highly anticipated travel show will host buyers and media from all over the world from Tuesday until Thursday next week.
The public entity says among other things, some of KZN's SMMEs will be putting their best foot forward by exhibiting their tourism offerings at the event.
Meanwhile, eThekwini Municipality has asked motorists to be aware of a road closure in the city in the run-up to the show.
"eThekwini Municipality notifies the public about the temporary closure of Walnut Road between Bram Fischer Road and Dr AB Xuma Street until 12 May 2023," says spokesperson Lindiwe Khuzwayo.
"The closure is to accommodate and ensure the smooth proceedings of the Africa Travel Indaba. The Indaba takes place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre from 8 to 11 May.
“Activities around the closed road include outdoor exhibitions and a natural Segway to the Durban Exhibition Centre to create a cohesive precinct."
