The ANC resembles 'a house on fire' - Ramaphosa
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says the state of affairs in the governing party resembles a house that is on fire.
Ramaphosa addressed the party's three-day elective conference in Emalahleni on Sunday.
"Last month the ANC's offices in Mbombela were set alight by a disgruntled comrade," he told delegates.
"I do not wish to dwell on the circumstances but that is a metaphor for a state of affairs of the ANC that should not be lost on us.
"The house is on fire and we are the ones who must put out the fire. And you as delegates here must put out the fire of divisions, you must put out the fire of corruption, you must put out the fire of everything that is going wrong in your movement."

Ramaphosa warned against infighting and divisions, which he said are mainly caused by access to resources and power.
"These destructions are infighting amongst us, they are the internal squabbles, they are the divisions amongst us and that is what destructs us. It is when we do things like that, we lose our attention on what needs to be done.
"They also revolve around contests that are rooted in battles over access to power and access to resources.
"In the end, when everything is stripped down, I have found that our squabbles, fights and divisions are around those two issues. Power and access to resources that is what we fight over."
