Investigators are probing a case of rape against a senior official in KwaZulu-Natal's Okhahlamba Local Municipality.
Police say the allegations centre around a 14-year-old pregnant girl who'd been abused since 2009.
A court will make a decision on the case docket, when they complete their investigations.

Okhahlamba's Mayor, Mlungisi Ndlangisa says they know very little about the matter.
"We need to first find out who is this person, after that we need to hear from him. We are not even sure if that person is arrested."
NGO, uBumbano Lokuthula led a march to the municipal offices when news broke last week.
Chairperson, Andile Hlatswayo says the official should step aside pending the outcome of investigations.
"All the matters that were actually raised in the municipality we can assure you indeed all that is true. We condemn such more especially politicians who use their power and manipulate young girls in the interest of abusing them sexually."
