Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A teenage boy has drowned in a swimming pool in Westville.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says paramedics found residents trying to resuscitate the 16-year-old boy at the home on Cedar Road.
"Advanced life support practitioners took over the resuscitation efforts and continued to try and resuscitate the teenager for up to 30-minutes. Unfortunately, they were unable to assist the teenager and he was declared deceased at the scene."
Jamieson says events leading up to the drowning are not yet known. Police are investigating.
