Teen drowns at Richards Bay beach
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A 16-year-old boy has drowned at a beach in Richards Bay.

According to Netcare 911, yesterday afternoon's incident happened while he was having a swim at Meerensee beach.
It's believed he then got into some difficulty in the water and went missing. The service's Shawn Herbst says this is when a search for him was initiated.
"When the child could not be located, the authorities were alerted. A search for the young boy was conducted by the NSRI Station 19," Herbst said.
Herbst says the boy's body was found and pulled from the water.
"The patient was assessed and showed no signs of life and tragically declared deceased," he said.
