Six suspects, among them a 14-year-old, are appearing in the Ixopo Magistrate's Court today for the murder of an elderly farmer in the small town on Monday.
They are facing charges of murder and house robbery.
The six were arrested on the same day of the killing following a manhunt by various task teams.
Police say they were found with stolen items from the home of 67-year-old Anton Phillip Verwey.
Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says Verwey was found lying face down with two open wounds to his abdomen.

"They were arrested after they were linked to the killing as well as the house robbery that was reported at the Ixopo area where a farm owner was killed and his house was ransacked.
"The police started to do their investigation that led to the arrest of the three suspects on the same day when the incident happened," he said.
