Teddy Mafia: Shallcross residents urged to cooperate with police

A ward councillor in Shallcross, south of Durban, is urging members of the community to work with the police, as they try to get to the bottom of Monday's triple murder.
Suspected drug lord Yaganathan 'Teddy Mafia' Pillay was shot at his Taurus Street home.
He died in hospital that afternoon.
The 62-year-old's murder sparked fury in the community, and locals violently turned on the two men, who allegedly shot Pillay, killing them both.

Councillor Previn Vedan says residents on Monday witnessed unimaginable levels of violence.

He believes the murders are linked to an on-going turf war, that fuelled a series of drive-by shootings in recent months.
Pillay's son was killed in a drive-by shooting in March last year.
