In Shallcross, there's a heavy police presence at the home of the late Yaganathan Pillay, the alleged drug lord who was commonly known as Teddy Mafia.

His funeral is underway at his residence.
Pillay was gunned down at his Taurus Street home on Monday by two unknown men.
Community unrest ensued, with the two men beheaded and set alight on the street.
Durban Metro Police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says the ceremony's been running smoothly with Covid-19 protocols being observed and 50 people at the house.

"There is a large contingent of police at the funeral. The police are monitoring the situation, the body has arrived and there is a large crowd and an officiating priest have made an announcement to comply with COVID regulations," says Sewpersad.
