Teacher's Union not prepared to risk lives of educators

SADTU says it's not prepared to risk the lives of educators - and is keenly watching all developments leading up to the resumption of the school year.
Last night - Minister Angie Motshekga confirmed that Grade 7s and Matrics will return to school on the first of June.
Other grades will be phased in as the weeks progress.
Mothsega says all the necessary COVID-19 mitigating measures will be in place at schools when the children return.
SADTU's Nomusa Cembi says from their inspections - they're not convinced this is the case.

She says there appears to be no synergy among provinces - with only two seemingly standing a decent chance of being ready in the next two weeks.
"The level of confidence is very low because we doubt that all the safety measures that need to be at schools such as the provision of water tankers.
"We doubt that we can be able to deliver with all these within two weeks. If we feel that the level of compliance is very low, we wont hesitate to tell our members not to put their lives at risk."
