Investigators probing Taylor's Halt murders are exploring the possibility that they may be linked to a long-standing feud between community members.
KZN Provincial Commissioner, Khombinkosi Jula visited the area, near Pietermaritzburg yesterday, after three men in their 30s: Sbonelo Ndawo, Lawrence Zondi and Ayanda Sish were gunned down while they were repairing a car.
The shots were fired from another vehicle.
A fourth man is in hospital.
A few hours later on Wednesday, three women and two children were shot dead in their home.

Jula says all five victims, including 16-month-old Thandolwethu and 12-year-old Sphelele Nxele were declared dead on scene.
"Lights went off in this area in Taylor's Halt and then some shots went off."
"One of the members of the Nxele family who stepped out to the neighbours, then came back to check where the shots were coming from, found out that five of his relatives were killed," said Jula.
The driver of a bakkie, that had been parked near the home, was also taken to hospital for gunshot wounds.
