Taxi transporting pupils overturns in Umlazi
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
A taxi has overturned along Sibusiso Mdakane Drive in E Section this morning.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says it's still unclear how many people were hurt in the crash.
"On arrival, paramedics found that a fully loaded taxi - mostly consisting of children aged between the age of six years and 15 years - somehow lost control and overturned coming to rest on its side. Most of the children had already been transported privately by a passing motorist who saw a dire need for emergency care before being transported to a hospital for the further care that they required," he says.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the accident.
