Taxi operators give Toyota SA a deadline
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Taxi operators in KZN have given Toyota SA a week to come back to them on how it plans on lowering the cost of Quantam minibuses which they say is too high.
Santaco's Boy Zondi says they feel they've given the company enough time for feedback.
"Seven days is not too bad. Toyota is here - it's not out of the country. We're saying - they need to come back to us and we need to have meetings and discuss what we have given to them," he said.
Hundreds of taxi operators sealed off some of city's main routes ahead of a protest march to Toyota's Prospecton plant yesterday morning.

Zondi says while taxi operations are back to normal today if talks with Toyota fail to yield positive results, more demonstrations are in the pipeline.
"Business is as usual today but if things don't go our way - we are busy planning something which we cannot reveal at this stage. This could be happening next week," he said.
