Taxi driver killed in N2 crash

A taxi driver has been killed in a crash on the N2 in Durban.

Rescue Care paramedic Ceron Lennox says a bakkie and a minibus taxi with no passengers collided just before the Spaghetti junction interchange, earlier this afternoon.



She says they found one passenger lying in the centre median of the busy highway.


"It seems to be that he was ejected from the taxi and he was the driver. The wheel that had come off the taxi had hit another two vehicles, but one vehicle was damaged injuring another lady who was then take to hospital for care. The lady who was transferred to hospital only had minor injuries."



Lennox said witnesses on the scene reported that the taxi had rolled four times down the freeway, before coming to a stop.



It's not yet know what led to the collision.
