Task team sent to Midlands school after allegations of sexual abuse, bullying

The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department has sent a task team to a top Midlands school today after allegations of sexual abuse and bullying surfaced.
It is claimed a 15-year-old schoolboy was bullied into performing a sexual act by senior pupils earlier this month.
The older pupils then allegedly filmed the incident. They have since been suspended.
The department's Muzi Mahlambi says they only found out about the allegations this weekend.
"The district in which the college is located has been [informed of] the matter. They are going to go there to conduct an investigation and test the evidence that is before us. We can assure you that if the evidence becomes positive through our investigation, we will take disciplinary action against the perpetrators," he said.
