#TakeOnRacism: 'Treat each other with respect'

Racism is a step back for South Africa especially when taking into consideration the price paid by people in the past.
The country is currently marking Anti-Racism Week which encourages citizens to act against racism.
Shack dweller movement, Abahlali Basemjondolo's Sbu Zikode says all South Africans deserve equal treatment and equal rights.

"We believe that South Africans have an opportunity to correct this. For us, it's really a question of treating each other with respect and dignity. Our call to South Africans is really to treat every man and woman with respect and dignity," he said.
The Durban resident feels there're more important issues that require the country's attention. He says racism must be left in the past.
"The organisation has been dealing much more with issues of xenophobia," he said.
