Sydenham residents ‘shocked’ at arrest of suspected contract killers
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The ward councillor in Sydenham says residents do not feel safe following the arrest of three suspected contract killers.

Over the weekend, three men were arrested at a lodge on Quarry Road West.
The police followed a tip-off of a hijacked vehicle spotted at the establishment.
When police arrived they found two stolen cars.
They also found four firearms, ammunition, eight bullet-resistant vests, as well as an empty rifle bag.
The suspects claimed to be from Delft, in Cape Town.
SAPS believed they could have been in the area to execute a hit.
Ward 31 councillor Remona Mckenzie says while gang-related shootings have quieted down, hijackings seem to be on the rise.
"If we are already finding people with high calibre ammunition, then it is a cause for concern, especially for the community, that means we are not safe."
