'Swindlers' of deceased persons' estates nabbed
Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
Four suspects will return to the dock on Friday in connection with a Master of the High Court fraud case.
The suspects allegedly swindled deceased persons' estates of some R700 000.
Zinhle Msomi, Lorraine Ndlovu, Zanele Hlengwa and Nkosinathi Moya were arrested in Durban last Friday.
The mother of one of the deceased persons approached the Master of High Court in July to register a claim for her late son, only to discover his R700 000 estate had already been successfully claimed by someone who had pretended to be his biological father.

"The matter was reported to the police, and after several months of investigations, police pounced on four suspects on Friday, 18 August 2023," says KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda.
"Zinhle Msomi (42), Lorraine Ndlovu (44), Zanele Hlengwa (45) and Nkosinathi Moya (62) were arrested in Durban and were remanded in custody when they made their first appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Friday, 18 August.
"Investigations revealed that the culprits would submit fictitious documents to the Master of the High Court and sought a letter of authority so that they could fraudulently claim the deceased person's estate."
