'Suspicious package' sees bomb squad called to Parliament
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Parliament has confirmed it's been given the all clear after a suspicious package was left unattended at the Parliamentary precinct on Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says police spotted the package.
He says bomb disposal specialists came in and the building was evacuated and cordoned off.
"While the police remain at the precincts and are undertaking necessary precautionary measures, Parliament remains very safe and confirms that there is no immediate danger posed to the parliamentary community at all.
"We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused this morning regarding access by the members of parliament staff and guests to the institution."
