Suspected Mozambican kidnapping kingpin due in Joburg court

An alleged kingpin,
suspected of being behind a number of kidnappings in Mozambique, is due to line
up in court in Johannesburg on Monday.
Specialised police units and members of Interpol arrested the 50-year-old at an upmarket estate in Centurion on Saturday.
National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says teams acted on an arrest warrant and extradition request issued by the government of Mozambique.
She says the suspect is wanted for kidnapping, and cases in which ransom demands were made.

"On Saturday evening, the team also consisting of the Special Task Force (STF), Crime Intelligence and Organised Crime pounced on 50-year-old Esmael Malude Ramos Nangy at an identified address in Centurion where he was arrested.
“In his possession, the team seized a 9mm licensed firearm, fourteen 9mm cartridges, five cellphones, multiple bank cards for South African banks as well as multiple SA and Mozambican sim cards.”
