Suspected hitman in court for killing KZN cop

KZN police have arrested a suspected hitman in connection with the murder of a police officer in Harding near Port Shepstone.

Andrew Houston, who was stationed at the SAPS Detectives office, was shot while he was driving in the town last year.
Hawks officials say a warrant of arrest was issued for Lwazi Dlamini.

"The case docket was allocated to the Hawks members for intensive investigation," says KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo.
"Members collected all necessary evidence, and a warrant of arrest was issued. Dlamini was arrested at Umtata Correctional Service and briefly appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court today [Thursday].
"He was remanded in custody, and the case was postponed to 28 September 2023."
