Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
An alleged scamster who had been on the run will appear in a Gauteng court on Wednesday after she was caught in Durban.
Swereen Govender is said to have scammed unsuspecting investors out of R18 million.
The 55-year-old Govender was found working in the kitchen of a lodge on Mahatma Ghandi Road.
Police had been trying to track her down for almost a year.
Govender apparently convinced family and friends to invest in the PPE company she was working for.

She allegedly claimed to be a director - and promised high monthly returns.
The Hawks' Lloyd Ramovha says Govender did not resist arrest when detectives approached her at the lodge on Friday.
She appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on the same day.
"She has now been transferred to a Johannesburg court in Palm Ridge to appear for various counts of fraud amounting to millions of rands."
