Suspected Durban drug dealers due in court

A group of suspected dealers will be standing in front of a Durban magistrate on Tuesday following the drug haul worth half-a-million rand.

They were nabbed in the south of the city.


A joint operation by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Crime Intelligence and eThekwini Metro saw the five suspects rounded up on Monday.


Police arrested five suspects aged between 41 and 51 for dealing in drugs.

Officers got word of drugs being transported between Wentworth and Bluff and intercepted the car. Upon searching it, they found four kilogrammes of heroin powder. 


Two people were taken into custody.


Authorities say follow-up investigations resulted in metro police intercepting another vehicle in Merewent.


They confiscated a further two kilogrammes of heroin powder and arrested three suspects.
