Suspect in Sindiso Magaqa murder applies for bail

A man accused of killing the ANC Youth League's former secretary general, has launched a bid for bail.

Sindiso Magaqa was attacked in July 2017 and died in hospital two months later.
After a lengthy investigation, 30-year-old Sibusiso Ncengwa was arrested last year and charged with murder.
He initially abandoned bail but has since had a change of heart.

He came before the Umzimkhulu Magistrate's Court, in southern KZN, yesterday.
"Bail proceedings in this matter began in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate's Court and the matter was postponed to Friday, January 18th, for further evidence in the bail application," spokesperson for the NPA in the province, Natasha Kara said.
