Suspect linked to kidnapping of Newlands teen back in court

A 20-year-old kidnapping suspect - arrested in connection with the disappearance of 17-year-old Mmeli Ngcobo is due in court today.
The teenager was abducted from outside his Newlands West school in February after he was accused of stealing a classmate's cell phone.

His family's still waiting for the results of DNA tests conducted on a body, found earlier this month. Police have explained that there's a national DNA testing backlog at the moment.
There've been several demonstrations by community members - demanding justice for Ngcobo.
