Suspect leads police to missing woman's body near Mariannhill

The grieving mother of a 30-year-old woman, whose body was found in a shallow grave, says no family should have to go through this ordeal.
Thandi Madlala accompanied investigators on their search for Xolisile Chonco near Mariannhill.
The Mpola resident went missing earlier this month.
"I looked for my child at every hospital and mortuary. I was called into the police station to be told that a man has confessed to officers. Yesterday, along with police - I went to see where my child was buried. I saw her there. I want the law to take its course. I'm hurt at how she was found. We are all hurt - no one would wish this upon their family," she

The police's Thembeka Mbhele says a man believed to be Chonco's boyfriend led police to where she had been buried.
"The boyfriend was arrested and he was very co-operative. He has been working with the police and he is 36-years-old. The body has been exhumed at the Mpola area by the community as well as the police," she says.
The suspect is due to appear in court soon.
