Suspect due in court for farm murders near Vryheid
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
A 33-year-old suspect in a recent farm attack in which two people were killed is appearing in the Vryheid Magistrate's Court today.

76-year-old Lodewyk van Rooyen and 37-year-old William Van Rooyen were shot and killed at their farm house in the Gluckstadt area near Vryheid earlier this month.
The armed gang that attacked them fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The police's Shooz Magudulela says officers made the breakthrough after approaching a car in Vryheid, suspected to have been used on the night of the crime.
Earlier this week, six men who had been taken in for questioning following the murders were released due to a lack of evidence.
"Two counts of murder and one of attempted murder was opened. Police who are the task team from Ulundi are busy trying to find the other remaining suspect," he said.
