Hitchhiker arrested for Eshowe principal's murder

A 24-year-old hitchhiker has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Eshowe principal, last week.

Busisiwe Nzuza was shot dead after giving the suspect - who then tried to take her car - a lift.

Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says the investigation is ongoing.
"The 44-year-old victim gave him a lift as he was hitchhiking from Empangeni to Eshowe. While they were still driving through, the suspect produced a firearm at the deceased, and demanded the vehicle," she said.
