Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
One of the two suspects arrested in connection with the killing a 35-year-old security officer in Durban is set to appear in court on Thursday.
Four armed men entered the premises of a business in Mayville on Tuesday and held the staff hostage.
They robbed the security guards of their guns and took cash.
One guard was shot and killed. A second was injured.
The robbers fled the scene in a getaway car.
KwaZulu-Natal police say a false hijacking case opened at the Lamontville Police Station led to the arrest of one 34-year-old suspect.
The second alleged robber was found in hospital, where he was admitted with a gunshot wound.
The 27-year-old was apparently shot by one of the security guards during the robbery.
He remains in hospital under police guard and will appear in court once discharged.
