Survey shows unemployment rate unchanged at 27.7%

Statistician-General Pali Lehohla says social grants won't address the levels of poverty in South Africa.
"That type of poverty is solved by people doing work every day and being productive but we have seen the sensitivity of loses once there is a drought. You'll see that a number of municipalities fell back into poverty once there was a drought," he says.
He was speaking at the release of the results of the quarterly labour force survey for the 2nd quarter of 2017.

They show the unemployment rate remains unchanged at 27.7%.
