Repairs underway following Mooi River outages
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Repair work is expected to get underway today at Mooi River's main electricity substation.
The substation and Mpofana Municipality's Corporate Services offices were torched on Sunday night.
The municipality says the blackout has affected the entire Midlands town. Municipal manager, Max Moyo says residents and local businesses are feeling the brunt of the outage.
Moyo says repair work could take several days.
"It's huge damage that has taken place. It's not going to take hours or a day to repair," he said.
Moyo says those responsible for the blaze used a burning tyre to start the fire inside the substation.
