Students in Pretoria robbery receiving counseling: UP
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The University of Pretoria says students who were robbed at gunpoint in Mamelodi are receiving counselling.
The 19 students and two professors were conducting an outreach programme at the Viva Foundation School, when they were attacked by an armed group in broad daylight yesterday.
A task team has been appointed to track down the robbers.
"This is something that is likely to stay in their minds for a very long time. It was a very sad incident. We will do our best to ensure that the country does not go into disrepute and that we try and undo the situation - including reassuring that South Africa is in fact a safe country," the university's Thami Mthembu said.
