Students force Habib to leave gathering
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Chaos erupted at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Braamfontein where students are expected to be addressed by various prominent leaders as part of the Wits Peace Accord.
Students were earlier outraged by the attendance of Wits Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib, accusing him of ambushing them.
They have demanded that he leave, saying violence cannot be accepted in a holy place.
Habib then left the venue.
Jay Naidoo addressed the students moments ago - lamenting the fact that too many citizens and leaders remain silent while the country is not working for the majority. He says the student's struggle is legitimate.
