Students at the University of Zululand say safety at off-campus residences is still a major concern.

They say the high campus crime rate means they are constantly having to look over their shoulder.
Students believe there is a gang targeting them.
Last month, a student was hospitalised after being shot in a robbery at an off-campus residence. But things took a turn on Sunday.

Police say the body of a 28-year-old suspected thief was found at the varsity after an apparent mob justice killing.

Mxolisi Khanyile, who is studying Animal Science, says they are having to deal with robberies every day.
Meanwhile, law student, Sibusiso Shwala says they have been left with no choice but to defend themselves.
