Student protests may force UKZN management to delay exams to 2017
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
While the situation remains tense at the UKZN PMB campus, management says it might have to suspend the remainder of the classes for the 2016 academic year.

The students are marching through the campus over concerns of a fee increment and poor state of residences among other things.
However, classes are continuing at all Durban campuses under high police visibility.
The UKZN's Lesiba Seshoka has urged protesting students not to come anywhere near the university premises.
"If they continue, it actually means we will have to move our sessional days to 2017, which by implication means they will have to write their examinations in 2017 - and they will have to repeat the academic year in which they are - which means if you're in second year, you'll have to be in second year next year, and if you're in third year you'll remain in that year," he said.
However, Seshoka says the students who are attending classes during this time will be allowed to write their tests and exams - provided they abstain from the protest.
