The province has lost a net amount of over 10,000 people to other provinces, mainly Gauteng.
Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube said the results will help them make informed decisions when planning interventions at the provincial, district and municipal levels.
"How do we service our community, and where do the services also still need to go?
"So, in all senses, we are approaching a turning point in the management of the dwindling resources which must address a growing, if not steady, demand issues including the negotiated wage hikes the social wage and even the unpredictability occasion by a climate change."
