State Security gets new director general
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The State Security Agency says its new director general brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in the public sector before.
Arthur Fraser officially began his duties yesterday.
Fraser, a former operations director-general at the National Intelligence Agency, takes over from Sonto Kudjoe who quit the position last month.
The State Security Agency's spokesperson Brian Dube says he has also worked for the Department of Home Affairs as a DDG responsible for immigration.
"Therefore he's someone who brings with him some experience in the public sector generally, but specifically in the community as well. Its someone who has been well versed about the operations thereof," he said.
It was reported in 2009 that Fraser “saved” President Jacob Zuma’s political life when he allegedly leaked secret recordings to Zuma’s lawyers that let him off the hook on corruption charges.
