Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Christopher Panayiotou and his two co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe and Zolani Sibeko have pleaded not guilty to abducting and killing the businessman's wife, Jayde last April.

The trial began today in the Port Elizabeth High Court.
Defence attorney Terry Price read Panayiotou's plea statement into the court record, which included a request for a trial within a trial.

This was based on the evidence of bouncer and state witness, Luthando Siyoni, which the defence says was unlawfully obtained.
The State has begun to lay out its case.
Prosecutor Marius Stander says he will show that Jayde had been unhappy, as her husband had been having an affair with Chanelle Coutts, who was allegedly his girlfriend.
He also says the State will show that Panayiotou had wanted to get a hitman to kill Jayde.
The trial continues.
