State has no case against Zandile Gumede: Supporters
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Zandile Gumede's supporters say the State needs to make its case against the former mayor or leave her alone until it can.
"The system is definitely not protecting the citizens of this country particularly because you cannot go to the same court and the same court keeps on granting postponements in the matter that is clearly stating that there are no charges presented," a supporter said.
Prosecutors were granted another postponement in Durban on Thursday, to finalise a massive forensic audit report, which they say supplies builds their fraud and corruption case again Gumede and her 16 co-accused.

They're facing charges linked to a multi-million rand DSW tender, from several years ago.
Gumede's attorney, Jay Naidoo wants the matter to be struck off the roll. He's expected to make an application at his client's next court appearance in December - IF the State's audit report isn't ready.
Mzomuhle Dube was among the supporters who gathered at the Durban Commercial Crimes Court yesterday.
"Allow the State to actually gather their evidence and bring them back when they are ready to do so.
"Definitely any person of Zandile Gumede's calibre who's been deployed to Parliament, you find that people continuously throw insults as if she did something wrong."
