State Capture Inquiry hears Guptas influenced minister appointments

The State Capture Commission of Inquiry has heard how members of the Gupta family had a hand in appointing ministers.

Former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel is giving testimony at the commission today.
He's told the commission that Fikile Mbalula was the first to confirm that he'd been called to the Gupta compound in Saxonwold and told he would be the new Sports Minister.

Manuel says at an ANC NEC meeting, Mbalula became emotional about the way his appointment as minister had happened.
