State calls for no bail in Durban rock-throwing case

The State has opposed bail in the case against a 26-year-old man accused of throwing rocks at cars off the Tollgate bridge.
The man who was arrested on Saturday.
Nkosinathi Mthalane made a brief appearance in the Durban MAgistrate's Court - facing a charge of malicious damage to property.
Mthalane, who has a number of wounds on his hands and head, occasionally gazed around the court room during the short proceedings.
The court heard that Mthalane had thrown rocks from the Tollgate Bridge onto two cars that had been travelling on the N3 on Saturday.
The windscreens of both cars were cracked but no one was hurt. He was arrested after constructions workers who witnessed the incidents reported him.

The case has been adjourned to the end of the month. The matter was postponed to next Monday so that Mthalane's address can be verified.
