Stage 4 and 3 load shedding over the weekend
Updated | By Newswatch
Load shedding will still be with us over the weekend and there are indications the power cuts could continue into next week.
Eskom says blackouts will remain in stage 4 until Saturday morning.
It says for the rest of the weekend, there'll be stage 3 load shedding.
Spokesperson Sikhonathi Mantshantsha says diesel deliveries are back on track after they were delayed by choppy waters at Mossel Bay.
"Transferring the fuel to the Gourikwa and Akerlig Open Cycle Gas Turbine stations will take place throughout the weekend to replenish by Monday. Eskom will also use the weekend to replenish the dam levels at the pumped storage schemes, which have been utilised extensively to complement generation capacity.
"It is anticipated the first unit of the Camden Power Station will return to service during the weekend, with the remaining returning over the course of the following ten days."
