Stage 3 load shedding from now till Monday
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Eskom says it will be implementing Stage 3 load shedding from 9am today till 5am on Monday.
It says it is experiencing a shortage in capacity and the rationing is to allow for the replenishment of its emergency reserves. The power utility says it is necessary to do this in order to prevent a total national blackout.
Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says some of their generating units have tripped.
"This is a result of tripping of some of our generating units, resulting in loss of capacity. We did get some units up and running last night but that was not enough", he said.
