Stage 3 and 4 load shedding this weekend - Eskom
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Eskom's head of generation says load shedding will continue in stages three and four over the weekend.

Thomas Conradie says this will allow them to replenish reserves.
Eskom executives have given a weekly update on the implementation of the Energy Action Plan.
"Although the storage is looking more healthy than what we have seen before as we approach the weekend, yet we are forced to continue applying stage 3 and 4 load shedding over this weekend in the same pattern than what we have done until now.
"The reason for that is we need to rebuild our reserves at a couple of stations, particularly in Lethabo's case, where we need to recover some of our coal stock levels after the very heavy rains but also plant problems on one of the conveyor belts."

Conradie says there's also been an improvement in the utility's diesel supply.
"We have got adequate off-site storage and diesel available at Ankerlig and also as Gourikwa where we are currently busy off-loading shipment of diesel that has arrived.
"Our on-site diesel levels are a bit low so we need to also utilise this opportunity over the weekend to transfer diesel from the off-site storage to the on-site storage in order to be well set up for the coming week."
