Stage 2 load shedding returns as cold front hits parts of SA
Updated | By Newswatch
Eskom says it will be implementing stage 2 load shedding from 4pm on Thursday until 9pm.

The power utility says this is due to the shortage of generation capacity and the cold front which hit parts of the country.
The power supplier's spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says a generation unit at two power plants went offline.
"Unfortunately, a generation unit each at Tutuka and Medupi Power Stations were forced offline this afternoon, increasing the capacity constraints on the power system.

"Further, a unit each at Medupi and Tutuka, that were expected to return to service this afternoon have now been delayed, further contributing to the shortages.
"Breakdowns currently total 14 137MW while planned maintenance is 2 924MW of capacity."
Eskom is urging consumers to reduce their amount of power usage in order to relieve pressure on its systems.
