Stage 1 load shedding activated
Updated | By Newswatch
Stage one load shedding will be imposed from 9am this morning until 11pm in the evening.
Eskom says the rotational power cuts are expected to continue until Thursday.
The utility warned, over the weekend, about the likelihood of load shedding saying a number of units broke down.

Eskom's Sinokathi Mantshantsha says demand for electricity has also gone up since January, putting pressure on ageing infrastructure.
"This is due to the high number of break downs that we experienced over the weekend and late week and the delay to service some units. We urge South Africans to cooperate with us and reduce the demand in order to lessen the impact of load shedding."
