Stage 1 load shedding from 5pm: Eskom
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Eskom says there will be Stage 1 load shedding between 5pm and 10pm tonight.
The power utility says this is due to a loss in generational units at Kusile, Kendal and Tutuka Power Stations and the delays in the return of units at three of it's power stations.
“These constraints have been exacerbated by delays in returning a unit each at Kusile, Duvha and Matla Power Stations,” says spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha.

The power utility says the likelihood of load shedding is high for the rest of the week as their power systems are highly constrained.
“These capacity constraints will continue for the foreseeable future and all South Africans are urged to reduce their use of electricity, particularly between 17:00 and 22:00, when the winter demand is the highest. Eskom apologises for the inconvenience and uncertainty caused by these interruptions in electricity supply,” adds Mantshantsha
