SRC concerned over delays caused by DUT strike
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
Student leaders at the DUT are urging the varsity and striking staff to resolve their pay dispute as soon as possible.
SRC president, Siphesihle Mthethwa says students are the ones suffering.
"We are encouraging management and unions to make sure that they find a common ground. Whatever that needs to be discussed - should be finalised with an immediate effect," he says.
Workers affiliated to three unions downed tools early last month - demanding better pay. Workers want a revised 8.5%, the DUT's offering 6.5%.
