Springfield Park gas leak repairs should be completed soon - Transnet
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Transnet says repairs on a damaged pipeline in Durban's Springfield Park are still underway.

Saret Knoetze from Transnet says on Thursday afternoon, the gas line was damaged by a tractor loader backhoe, commonly known as a TLB.
Workers were clearing up illegal dumping at the Bisasar Road Landfill Site.

She says during the clean-up, the TLB hit into the pipeline.
"Due to a fire on the adjacent landfill site, we could not access the pipeline. We had to wait until it was safe, which we managed to do this morning.
"We are currently excavating the area and starting remains on the pipeline, which should be completed by the end of the day."
