Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Forensic analysts are assembling evidence from the scenes of two fatal crashes this weekend. Six people were killed when two cars collided on the R103 near Midmar Dam on Friday night.
It’s unknown if the impact is what caused one of the vehicles to burst into flames.
Then on the R617, near Pietermaritzburg, two people lost their lives when the minibus taxi they were travelling in overturned.

KZN Transport's Mluleki Mntungwa says there’s usually a spike in road crashes at the end of the month.
"We are concerned about the number of road crashes that have occurred. We urge motorists to abide by the rules of the road. driveIf we abide by these rules, we will ensure that we save more people on our roads," Mntungwa said.
